Electralloy, a leading custom melter of specialty and stainless alloys, has earned the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) certification to produce ingot steel castings for marine applications. The certification qualifies Electralloy to produce ingot steel castings in alloy and stainless steels in grades 304N, 17-4, 15-5, Nitronic®50, Nitronic® 50ESR in weights up to 28, 500kgs(63,000 lbs).

The American Bureau of Shipping is the recognized authority for marine and offshore classification services.  Since 1862, ABS has been promoting maritime safety and developing technical standards for the design, construction, and maintenance of ships and other marine uses. Typical applications covered by ABS certification include offshore mobile drilling units, concrete vessels, research and mining ships, floating offshore production installations, tension leg platforms, semisubmersibles, fixed offshore installations, pipelines, risers, and single point moorings.
